The retail price is $ 49.99, replaces the Pixma iP1800 as an entry-level, direct printer with limited features. As expected from the initial product, iP2600 does not have a PictBridge port and memory card slots, but makes up for it with a sleek design, print speeds are competitive, and bold, crisp prints. The photos themselves are also very easy to plant, repair, and modify using the included Easy-PhotoPrint EX software bundle. Overall, you will find that this is a cost-effective printer for text documents and amateur level photo printing.
It is obvious that Canon put a lot of work into the design iP2600. Sleek exterior is 5.6x17.4x10 inches and has a glossy black finish, a little mirror finish that looks sleek on your desk - that is, until the dust settles, literally. Shiny body retains fingerprints, much like on the iPhone screen. Noda side, iP2600 does not take up a lot of desk space, and mixed well with the rest of our dark peripherals. Output and second paper trays fold up into the unit when not in use, creating a tight box which could easily be mistaken for a boom box stereo. The output tray folds down from the front of the printer with the arm a little thin rectangle that extends into the cage loose paper. arm does not have a cap at the end, counterproductive, and some of our test sheet tray flight as a result. Annoying, but certainly not a deal-breaker.
Canon Pixma iP2600 performed admirably in our speed tests. Pixma churned 5.68 pages per minute (ppm) black-and-white text, falling just short of the HP Deskjet 4260 ($ 75) at 6:03 ppm and Lexmark Z845 ($ 50) at 6.85 ppm. The third sub printer all in the same general price range of $ 100, so a little deficit is expected and acceptable compared with other budget inkjet printers.
